This is in reply to deleyd, from a thread in the Support forum. We both use the Directory Opus file manager, and he asked:
> I have Directory Opus9. It's nice. Do you have some customizations related to Multi-Edit?
I HAVE DONE TWO THINGS:
1. I have ME in my Send-To folder, and I rely on this frequently for editing HTML files (which load into my browser if I double click). So to edit I just hold the right click and select ME from the context menu. Pretty basic.
2. I have set up a DOpus hotkey to create a new text file, and it loads the default text editor (ME in my case, of course) with a blank window. I then paste in whatever it is that I have cut from a website or file. I have ME set-up so that I type ESC - F - A to do a file Save-As. (I have the Esc key set to activate the main ME menu.) In the save-as window the ".TXT" extension is already there, so after "Home" I can type in the file name. Very quick and easy.
Here is the set-up for that in DOpus:
A. Settings | Customize --> Click the new hotkey icon
B.
Name: Create TXT File
Tip: Create TXT File
Hotkey: Ctrl + N (for "new," or key of your choice)
Function: New_TXT_File (this is an internal DOpus command)
I'm interested in any ME / DOpus tweaks that others may have.
